Best Waxing Tips for the Summer

Waxing should be an essential part of your skincare routine and beauty care. It keeps your skin looking smooth, even, radiant, and clear. You won't be prone to cuts like shaving and your hair will grow back thinner while your skin looks more polished in the process. If you're on the fence about whether or not to wax or you need a little extra tips to get you going, we have created a list just for you! Here are some of the best waxing tips and tricks to get you in the mood.
Avoid shaving before or after waxing
Shaving before waxing can make your hair too short, thus making it harder to wax. You want your hair to be about the length of a grain of rice (or about 1/4 inches long). This is the optimized length in order to fully wax the hair follicle. If you happen to shave before, it's best to wait a bit before your appointment. This length could take anywhere from 3 weeks to 4 weeks in order to get a proper wax.
Exfoliate Regularly
Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and cleans the pores of your skin. Exfoliation can actually make your skin look smoother. Without exfoliation, your hair follicles can become plugged frequently. This can turn into overgrown hairs or bacteria seeping into your skin. Exfoliation before you get a wax can help loosen those skin cells and decrease any possible irritation, ingrown hairs, and acne. Exfoliation is also important after though, so don't skip out on the routine!
Try A Spot Treatment
There are dark spot treatments as well as ingrown hair spot treatments. This is great for anyone who tends to get more ingrown hair than the next person, or those who have some spots on their body that they want to go away. Treat yourself to a spot treatment and work towards a shining, polished area.
Stay Moisturized
Moisturizing your body and waxed area can help hydrate it and keep it looking and feeling smooth. It helps the skin glow as well as rejuvenates those rough, dry patches. Moisturizing after a wax can help lock in that extra moisture, but avoid any fragrance lotions for a couple of days. Anything too fragrant can irritate the skin, especially after a fresh wax.
Keep a regular schedule
Waxing regularly not only helps exfoliate the skin, but it also helps hair grow back thinner and slower. Over time, a regular schedule with waxing can help decrease irritation and pain from the wax itself. A regular schedule will also keep your body looking fresh and glowing for a longer time.
Whether you're a first timer when it comes to waxing or a seasoned professional, you can never go wrong with knowing the right tips to keep your areas looking silky and smooth.
